Will the Wind Rider cover fit my BMW R1250GS or R1200GS?
Yes. Each cover is cut for your specific year and model, with patterns that match the rider saddle contour exactly across the full BMW lineup. How does it install?
Velcro straps loop under the seat and fasten back to themselves. About 5 minutes start to finish. No tools, no drilling, nothing permanent. If you ever pull it off the OEM seat is exactly as it was.
Will it slide at highway speed or on rough ADV terrain?
No. The cover is cut for your specific BMW and the velcro straps lock under the seat at any speed. Universal stretch covers slide because they have to fit a shape they were not made for. Ours does not. It stays put on long interstate pulls and on chunky fire road sections.
How does the mesh handle dust and dirt on adventure rides?
Water and dust pass through the open mesh instead of caking into it. At the end of a dusty day rinse the cover with a garden hose, let it air dry for a few minutes, and the structure is back to clean. No special cleaner needed.
Does it work over a Sargent, Russell, or Corbin aftermarket seat?
Yes. We cut covers for aftermarket seats too, but we need a few measurements from you since the seat profile is different from the OEM BMW shape. Email our customer service team at service@windriderseatcovers.com with your bike and seat brand, and they will walk you through the measurements and make a cover that fits your exact setup.
Can I keep using BMW heated seats with this cover installed?
It depends on the bike. On some BMW models the heating element is strong enough that you can still feel the heat clearly through the mesh, so riders keep the cover on year round. On other models the heat is more subtle, and it is best to pull the cover off when you want the full warmth. The cover comes off in about a minute either way.
Will it cover cracked or sun damaged OEM vinyl?
Yes. The cover sits flush over the existing seat surface and hides cracks, sun fading, and small tears. It also adds a UV and water layer on top, so the OEM vinyl underneath stops getting beat up by every parking lot day in the sun.
What if it doesn't fit my BMW?
